Fatherhood
Photos of being a dad.
My father passed away when I was ten. My parents divorced when I was two. His own father had abandoned him. Growing up, I was raised by women, which was a good thing. It taught me how to think from two different perspectives, and on balance that has been an asset my whole life.
That said, for almost all of my life, up until my early thirties, before I met my wife, I saw fathers as a general nuisance, something odd, something I didn’t understand. I knew they were needed for a little while, but after that, I figured the mom could run with it. Then my father-in-law passed away, and it showed me what a father really is.
